Rocky Mountain Combat 8" Military Boot – Coyote Brown

Engineered for elite performance in the most unforgiving environments, the Rocky Mountain Combat (Style RKC164)is a technical masterpiece designed for operators who demand more than a standard issue boot. Whether you are navigating scree fields or engaged in fast-roping drills, this boot combines the durability of full-grain flesh-out leather with modern material science to keep you in the fight.

The RKC164 is packed with mission-specific innovations. It features SuperFabric® instep panels to prevent boot failure from rope burn, and a KulKote® thermal regulating lining that actively manages foot temperature to keep you cool during intense activity. With an external TPU toe cap for armor-like abrasion resistance and a hidden Fuchsia signaling insole for emergency communication, the Mountain Combat boot is built for those who lead the way.

Please note: This style is not AR 670-1 Compliant.

FEATURES:

  • SuperFabric® Rope Guard: Strategically placed instep panels are engineered to resist extreme abrasion and heat, specifically preventing early boot failure caused by fast-roping and rappelling.

  • KulKote® Thermal Regulation: The interior lining features KulKote technology, which absorbs and stores heat energy to regulate temperature, keeping feet cooler in hot climates and during high exertion.

  • External TPU Toe Cap: An external molded toe cap provides superior protection against rocks, debris, and impacts, significantly extending the life of the boot in rugged mountain terrain.

  • Emergency Signaling Insole: The removable footbed is colored intense Fuchsia on the underside. In a survival situation, it can be removed and used as a high-visibility signaling device for air or ground rescue.

  • Aggressive Multi-Directional Outsole: Designed for mountain warfare, the outsole offers oil and slip resistance with a tread pattern that digs into loose dirt and gravel.

  • Cement Construction: Built with a light and flexible cement construction that offers the athletic feel of a hiker while maintaining structural integrity with stitched toe and heel reinforcements.

  • Full-Grain Flesh-Out Leather: The premium rough-out leather upper is durable, breathable, and effectively hides scratches and scuffs from field use.

    • Recommendation: If you plan to wear thick mountain trekking socks, consider ordering the Wide width if available or sizing up a half-size.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Is this boot AR 670-1 Compliant?

This boot is designed with Military Spec materials and matches the OCP colorway. However, due to the external TPU toe cap and SuperFabric panels, it may not meet the strict "plain toe" requirement of DA PAM 670-1 for general infantry issue. It is typically authorized for unit-specific deployment or field training where enhanced durability is required. Always check with your Unit Commander.

  • What is the benefit of the Fuchsia insole?

This is a SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) feature. If you are stranded or need extraction, you can pull the insole out and wave it to signal friendly forces. It is high-vis gear that doesn't take up extra pack space.

  • Is SuperFabric really that tough?

Yes. SuperFabric uses tiny armor plates over a flexible fabric base. It is incredibly resistant to the friction heat generated during fast-roping, which often melts standard nylon or leather boots.

  • Is this boot waterproof?

No. The description emphasizes breathability and thermal regulation (KulKote) rather than waterproofing. It is designed to breathe and dry quickly, making it ideal for hot, arid, or high-activity environments.
