LaCrosse Burly 18" Foam Insulated Waterproof Rubber Boots

Introduced in 1963 as the cold-weather evolution of the legendary Grange, the LaCrosse Burly is the boot you trust when the temperature drops but the job isn't done. While it shares the same rugged DNA as its uninsulated cousin, the Burly is equipped with polymeric foam insulation, providing essential warmth for late-season hunts, winter farm work, and cold wet mornings.

Built from LaCrosse’s proprietary ZXT Rubber, this boot offers superior resistance to ozone, cracking, and tearing compared to standard rubber boots. It features the signature LaCrosse Ankle Fit™ design, which locks the heel in place to prevent the "sloppy" feel of generic wellies. With a secure fit, a fiberglass shank for support, and unmatched waterproofing, the Burly ensures you can trek through snow, slush, and freezing mud in total comfort.

FEATURES:

  • Foam Insulation: Lined with a layer of polymeric foam insulation extending from the bottom of the boot to the ankle, keeping feet warm in cool-to-cold conditions without the bulk of heavy felt liners.

  • ZXT Rubber Durability: Hand-laid, premium natural rubber is chemically formulated to resist ozone and harsh environmental factors, ensuring the boots stay waterproof year after year.
  • Signature Ankle Fit™: A narrowed heel pocket grips the top of the foot and locks the heel down, preventing chafing and ensuring the boot stays on your foot in sticky mud.

  • 100% Waterproof: Seamless construction guarantees complete protection from water, snow, and slush.

  • Adjustable Top Strap: A gusseted collar with an adjustable strap allows you to cinch the boot tight to keep out snow and debris or loosen it to tuck in insulated coveralls.

  • Traction & Stability: Features a chevron cleated outsole that sheds mud quickly and a fiberglass shank for lightweight arch support on uneven terrain.

Sizing & Fit Guide

  • Fit Profile: Ankle Fit™. These fit snug around the ankle to prevent heel slip.
  • Sizing: Whole sizes only.
    • Recommendation: If you wear a half size, size DOWN. (e.g., if you are a 10.5, order a size 10).
    • Winter Sock Note: If you plan to wear extremely heavy wool socks, you may want to stay true to your larger half-size, but generally, the rubber stretches to accommodate.
  • Women's Sizing: This boot is unisex/men's sizing. Women should subtract 2 sizes from their standard shoe size (e.g., Women's 9 = Burly Size 7).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What is the difference between the Grange and the Burly?
The Grange is non-insulated (for Spring/Summer). The Burly is foam insulated (for Fall/Winter). Both share the same ZXT rubber construction and Ankle Fit™ design.

  • Is this the "Air Grip" version?
No. This model (266040) features the classic Chevron Cleated outsole, which is excellent for shedding mud and general traction. The "Burly Air Grip" is a different model with a different tread pattern.

  • How warm are they?
LaCrosse categorizes these for "Cool to Cold" weather. The polymeric foam provides significant warmth retention for active movement in freezing temps, but they are not rated for extreme arctic conditions in the same way the "Alphaburly Pro" series is.

  • Can I wear these for farming?
Absolutely. The ZXT rubber is resistant to barnyard acids and chemicals, making the Burly a favorite among dairy farmers and ranchers for winter chores.
